Debatably Dateable is 3 years old!

I’m so excited to celebrate another anniversary with Debatably Dateable! She’s quickly closing in on 5k followers and is consistently setting new records for monthly views this summer, so I couldn’t be prouder! Over the past 3 years, I’ve been able to produce about 500 posts and 2 poetry collections.

Ddateable has been a great launching pad for my sophomore poetry collection Where I Ache and I thank you guys so much for all that support!!

DD has expanded with dating advice, poet interviews, and writing and publication tips. My favorite article from the past 12 months is You Shouldn’t have to Love Yourself First because of all the discussion it fostered in the comments! My favorite poem would be Moving On and Moving Out, it’s an older piece but I enjoy how it’s held through time.

I’m exciting to explore more topics in the relationship and dating world as well as write and publish more poetry! I hope to continue to reach new audiences with my blog and my books! I’ll be updating you all on the progress of my third collection over this next year so make sure to always check in!

  1. Congratulations on your 3rd anniversary. I enjoy reading your posts immensely and you have a wit and wisdom which suggests you are slightly older than your 3 years (πŸ˜‰) keep going and may you achieve every target you set for yourself.

  2. Wow! Big congratulations. You’ve accomplished a ton. I’ve got a quick question for you as a fellow three year old blog..If you’ve got a minute to spare. Is your site self hosted? I found that once I switched to a self hosted theme last year, I lost almost all of my interaction through WordPress.Any advice?

    1. Yeah i went self hosted last year too. Do you still use the WordPress reader/newsfeed? I still find new blogs on there and i think that’s how i keep my engagement. Otherwise my traffic would be pitiful

      1. Thanks for responding. πŸ™‚ Yes, I still use the newsfeed and interact with other blogs, but I went from getting easily 5-6 subscribers a week to zero. I have the Jetpack plugin (free version) that enable my posts to be viewable in the reader but I don’t think they get seen anymore at all.

      2. It also took me well over 6 months to rebuild the stats i used to have for monthly views. I’ve started a emailing list so i don’t have to rely on WordPress for follows but that number hasn’t even reached 50 yet.

I’m also trying to hop on the Pinterest bandwagon to increase stats, are you working that avenue too?

      3. I am on Pinterest, but have not utilized it as much as I know I probably could. I’m focusing my efforts on building an email list because that’s what everyone was saying was the most important way to build your audience. I don’t get any new followers via wordpress any more. People just aren’t seeing my blogs like they used to.
